What will I do?
This course focuses on equipping you with the essential skills employers are looking for in candidates applying for a job. You will learn to use various techniques and tools for searching and applying for jobs and how to improve on interview skills.
In particular you will learn to:

Identify key areas of interest, know where your strengths and abilities lie and be able to look for appropriate employment opportunities that match these criteria.

Apply for a range of job vacancies and look at the importance of presenting job application information in an appropriate and accurate way

Prepare appropriate responses to the interviewer questions to an interviewer

Improve your English through the Skills for Life programme
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. A basic understanding of IT is expected on the WorkSkills course, we would advise you to sign up to the IT Skills course if you have no understanding of IT. You will be required to use a computer outside of your time in the classroom; therefore having access to a home computer would be an advantage. Local libraries offer IT facilities that can be used by the general public.
Assessment
WorkSkills for Life is coursework/portfolio based and no exams are required.
Progression
Learners can progress on to IT Skills for Life or Sage Accounting.
