Students awarded for their achievements
Students stand out as Lead Learners!

Two students from New Campus Basildon were each awarded with a £20 voucher of their choice after receiving a lead learner certificate.
David Hyde, 18, from Brentwood and Sara Pithers, 19, from Canvey Island won the awards for achieving the most merits throughout the term. Both students are studying a BTEC National Award in Sport at New Campus Basildon after completing the BTEC First Diploma in Sport with Distinction.
" I was shocked and very happy to win the lead male learner award. After I finish at NCB I would like to go on to University to get a teaching degree and become a teacher.”
NCB Student, David Hyde
“The merits are awarded across campus and I am very proud that both lead learners were my sports students, I am sure they will continue to work hard and be successful over the next academic year studying at a higher level.”
Curriculum Leader for Sport, Stuart Kendrick
The certificates and achievements that the students are awarded for are, Skills for Life, most merits and 100% attendance. At the end of the year the overall lead learner will get their name engraved on a trophy shield.
Certificate presentations to note the achievements of NCB students are held regularly.
“Recognising achievement and success is absolutely key in supporting the development and progression of our learners at NCB.”
Katy Quinn, Executive Director, Skills and Business Development
Many other students at NCB were also awarded for their achievements and will continue to be congratulated for their dedication and hard work throughout their studies.
Those wishing to find out more about New Campus Basildon are invited to attend an Open Evening on Thursday 12 November from 6-8pm.
