NCB Celebrates Student Success
NCB Student Award Ceremony

New Campus Basildon, a partnership led by SEEVIC College, recently hosted its first Award Ceremony to celebrate the success of its students. The evening ceremony, held at New Campus Basildon, The Icon saw SEEVIC College’s Principal and Chief Executive, Sarah Wright award students with their certificates and trophies, to the applause of their friends, family, guests and staff.

There were 5 student award categories that were voted for by the students themselves, these included most helpful, organised, dedicated, inspirational and focused learner. Winners of each category received a glass star trophy and certificate. Staff also nominated students for learners of the year in each subject.
“I feel really excited as I’ve never really won anything, it’s really uplifting. My time at NCB has been great, I’ve meet a lot of new people and it has given me a different look on life. Now I have completed my course at NCB I plan to move onto an Access course and eventually become a social worker”.

As well as awards voted for by staff and students, awards were also given out for 100% attendance and merits. Course representatives, a group of students elected by the learners to act as the student voice for the college also received certificates and vouchers for their hard work and commitment.
“I’ve had a really good night its been a really special evening. I’m studying Children’s Care Learning and Development at NCB and I’ve learnt so much and made friends for life. In the future I plan to become a primary school teacher.”
