Original group of NCB students prepare for life after College

A group of NCB students, who joined the College as part of the first ever cohort of learners’, prepare to leave the College after successfully completing their course.
Dominique Jess, Nicola Ellis and Laura Gordon are all studying the Level 3 BTEC in Health and Social Care and began their course back in September 2008 when the College opened it’s doors for the first time. After successfully completing the National Award the girls have on gone on to study for the higher qualification of the National Certificate.
“I have really enjoyed my time at NCB, it has been exciting from beginning to end because there is such a good atmosphere here. When I finish my course this year I am going on to study midwifery at London South Bank University.”
Laura Gordon, NCB Student
“My time at NCB has been really enjoyable, I have met lots of great new people and feel like we have all grown as a family. I’ll definitely stay in touch with the friends that I have made here. When I leave I plan to go on to study child nursing at university.”
Dominique Jess, NCB Student
As part of their course the girls also study Personal and Social Development Unit in which a recent project saw them embark on creating their own short animation.
“It was a really fun class we had to plan the whole process from start to finish. We had to decide what pictures we needed and what filming we needed to do. We filmed and directed the animation ourselves and edited it into a finished piece. I’m really pleased with how it turned out.”
